COLOURs OF LIFE
POWER OF ART
Finding New Path
Discover my story of becoming an emerging artist who found passion in collaborative art! As a construction project manager, I’ve always been driven by desire to create. But in 2020, I felt a pull towards different form of expression – after two decades in the construction business, I decided to fully embrace my lifelong passion for art.
The breaking point was the summer of 2020. Determined to start new chapter after having left Dubai, I ended up stranded in Serbia due to the pandemic. I sought refuge on Koh Chang Island in the Danube river. It was there that I discovered love for collaborative painting, inspired by the island’s beauty and the camaraderie of friends. It’s also where I met my wife. Together, we decided to stay and immerse ourselves in the art world. This marked the beginning of my journey as an emerging artist. Discover how this collaborative spirit has shaped my art journey.

LIFE BEHIND THE ART

My Life Today
As an Emerging Artist
Dividing my time between Serbia and the UAE, I build connections through art, engage in collaborative artistic projects and take pleasure in creating large-scale figurative paintings inspired by real-life events.
When I first started painting, I questioned whether people would truly understand or connect with the visual narratives I was putting out into the world. It felt like uncharted territory where vulnerability and creativity collided. Despite the initial hesitation, there was an undeniable inner pull compelling me to create, to externalize the vivid images swirling in my mind.
In the quiet moments, amidst the strokes and blending of colors, I’ve taken the time to reflect inward. It’s been a deliberate process of asking myself challenging questions, exploring the mental battles, and extracting raw, unfiltered honesty. This introspection has, in turn, become the foundation for conceptualizing my art and gave me the confidence to push forward.
“Art, for me, is so much more than a profession – it’s my voice, it’s a way to express the depths of my emotions. I am into crafting pieces that are not just easy on the eyes but also sparking some real feels. I want to create art with a pulse and I want you to feel it. Dive deep into my work, and you’ll find a call to care, to wonder, and to stand up.”

MY DREAM
Collaborative Art with the Purpose
As an emerging artist, I dream of transforming my life and the world around me through art.
What began as a personal quest for new perspectives in life, soon evolved into an exploration of the power of engaged art to push boundaries and ignite meaningful conversations. Alongside art, nature is my greatest passion. I believe art has the power to help the humanity to shape a world in harmony with nature, leaving a vibrant, colorful legacy for future generations. By capturing the rugged beauty around us, I hope to inspire action to safeguard it from the forces of destruction—whether through war, pollution, or neglect.
Join me on this artistic and transformative journey, as I continue to redefine my work and my purpose in life.
LIFE BEHIND THE ART
Lifelong Relationship with Art
Inspired to Create
Art has always been an integral part of my life, from sculpting to photography to pottery. But it was painting that reignited my passion and inspired me to turn a hobby into the creative project that would become my life’s work.
Often driven by shear desire to create, I am largely inspired by the personal experiences, as well as the true life stories of others that resonate with my own. Particularly drawn to people who push their limits and conquer new frontiers, my first series, “The Journey to the Top” was inspired by the incredible feat of my brave friend Dolores who climbed Mount Everest.
The second, and most significant, series of my paintings to date was inspired by a flower-smelling bull we all knew as children—Ferdinand. The beloved children’s story, made famous by the book The Story of Ferdinand, is rooted in the real-life experiences of a bull named Civilón. His journey through life and death, war and destruction, mirrors much of what I have lived through myself.

The Beginnings
Early Events that Shaped My Journey
Born in Croatia in 1976, I had a happy childhood, until two pivotal events changed my life: my father’s death after a prolonged illness when I was ten; and the harsh reality of war as I turned fifteen, forcing my family to flee our hometown in 1991. Finding refuge in Serbia, after high school, I faced a dilemma whether to study civil engineering or art. Following my mother’s advice that I could always paint as an engineer, but not the other way around, I chose engineering.
As life would have it, I endured another war in 1999 – the NATO bombing of Serbia. The play of destiny took my mother away before I earned a degree in civil engineering, after which I pursued postgraduate studies in Human Resources.
Alongside the studies, I managed one of the most prominent clubs in the city. Always surrounded by people and amazing friends, my life was marked by a sense of unity and shared purpose, which I now want to pour into Colours of Life.
COLLABORATION
Transformative Power of Art
My journey as an emerging artist has thought me that the true power of art extends beyond individual expression. I firmly believe that everyone possesses the capacity to create something beautiful. My mission is to motivate individuals to embrace their creativity, collaborate in artmaking, and bring more colour to their own lives and the lives of others.
I am driven to establish a collaborative platform that won’t merely showcase our art; but eventually serve as a dynamic space where we mutually inspire and uplift each other.
In summary, this initiative is a pathway for personal transformation and a means to contribute to something larger—a celebration of creativity, mutual support, and the realization of our artistic and human aspirations.
