Lack of Empathy

This large size painting explores emotional disconnection in the aftermath of a bullfight. Coral red and turquoise blue details, immersed in the sand surface, tell a tale of the aftermath—a bullfight’s conclusion.  The bull lies motionless; a silent witness to the arena’s fleeting drama. Men in red shirts diligently clean the arena, preparing it for the next round. Amidst the scene, a woman in contemplation, savoring a glass of wine. The woman’s contemplative pose suggests a disconnection from the events unfolding before her, mirroring the human capacity for dispassion even in the presence of mortality and upheaval.

Exploring Emotional Disconnection

This large size painting explores emotional disconnection and invites the viewer to move beyond passive observation and engage more deeply with the fragility and drama of life. In modern busy word human tendency is to remain detached from life’s dramatic moments and move forward.

As human beings, we are very much capable of completely opposite spectrum of the feelings, urging us to live in abundance. The entire series “Civilón – The Bull Who Loved to Eat Flowers” is a call to the human kind to stop being superficial observes of life’s moments, but rather to come closer, get interested and engage.

CIVILÓN BLOG

Ferdinand the Bull, alongside the Little Prince and Jonathan Livingston Seagull, is among the select childhood characters that have left a lasting impression on me. Looking back at my memories of watching the cartoon as a child, I was always skeptical about his idyllic conclusion amid the blooming blossoms.
